Process
-
The first step is to define the purpose of your web site. Ask yourself questions
such as "Why do I want to have a web site?" "Who is my target audience and what do I want
them to learn when they visit my site?" This will help decide what the content and goals
of your web site will be. We will also determine what you need from us other than web design.
Do you already have existing text and graphics or will you need us to help generate text and take photos? Step One is to help us figure out what we are
dealing with and to help you determine if a web site is right for you. This set of consultations
is done risk free.
-
Now that we know what you need and what tools we have to work with, we bring it all together.
We examine the content of the site and categorize the information into
sections (which will become your links). A well-organized web site is crucial if you want people
to stay at your site. At this time we also decide the style of web site that you
want to have. We need to have the layout, colors, and the overall look of your site already decided
before we begin to develop. This does not mean once we begin development you cannot change your mind.
We understand that many people do not know exactly what look they want for their site.
For this reason we strongly recommend that you browse the Internet (possibly competitors sites)
and take note of what you like and dislike about different sites. A clear vision of what you
want in your web site will help us to create exactly what you are looking for. We take this step
very seriously so that you are happy with the outcome the first time around. If you are not
into the design details, or don't have a particular look in mind, we are more than happy to
come up with the design for your entire site.
-
This is the interactive stage where we begin to develop the site. We will
display the work we have done on a private web address shared with you alone. Throughout the
development stage we will be requesting feedback from you. Keeping in contact during the entire
development stage and allowing you to see the progress catches any possible problems before
too much work is done.
-
When the site development is done, we will conduct a usability test of your
Web site. We recommend you ask friends, coworkers, and family to test the links, navigation,
interface, and have them describe what they liked and disliked about your Web page.
We have our own testers, but have found friends and family tends to be the best critics.
When everything is in place, we work to make sure that you are completely satisfied with the
results. You will be in control of the final outcome of your site, which is why we actively
involve you from the very beginning.
-
Now that the site is complete and you are satisfied with the results, we will
upload your web site to the chosen domain name. For customers purchasing the premium
maintenance plan, we will submit their site to search engines. *
*If you do not plan on hosting your site with us, we do not
upload or submit your site to search engines. You will receive your web site pages on
compact disc.
